ABOUT ESCAPISM Escapism is one of the serious horde raiding guilds on Hellscream EU. The guild formed in April 2009 from players who had previously been in guilds including Void and Mint Rubbing, and was created with a simple goal in mind - to unite like-minded players on Hellscream, allowing us all to experience the thrill of end-game raiding whilst having a laugh along the way! Many of the guys and girls here have been playing together for years now, but there is plenty of room for old and new faces alike. Escapism may not force our members on a diet of energy drinks and caffeine tablets to get those server firsts, but nevertheless we have the vision and the skills to clear content at a steady pace and are serious about pushing for those harder achievements too. It is the very same (officer) team in Escapism who achieved Horde first 'The Immortal' in Mint Rubbing and then Horde first 'Heroic:Glory of the Raider'. Now with Ulduar upon us, we are polishing our weapons for some more challenging content and are already planning for the next set of drakes! We currently supply spots for one 25 man raiding group. If you are serious about raiding and have the time and energy to commit to giving 110% effort to the guild, the guild will give you a fun, well planned raiding environment, with a healthy and helpful social atmosphere outside of raids too. If you would like more information please contact one of our officer team in game, and thank you for reading!
The following raid rules will be applied when raiding all content. We ask everyone raiding with us to read and follow these rules closely. Failure to do so will lead to you being removed from raid. Members who choose to ignore these rules repeatedly will be removed from guild. If you cannot make it to a raid, we expect you to let us know via a forum message! 01. We raid from Sunday – Thursday, 20.00hrs – 00.00hrs server time (it may however be possible that we may raid a little past 0000hrs if we have a good shot at killing a particular boss). Invites will start at 19.45hrs and stop at 19.55hrs. 02. Everyone attending progress raids must come prepared with food, flasks/elixirs and class-relevant potions. They are required to bring a large enough quantity to last throughout the night, taking into consideration wipes when learning new boss fights. Failure to do so could lead to you being put on sitout for the rest of the night. Consumable checks will be made one minute after you have been told to eat/drink up. 03. Anyone who clicks ‘Ready’ when a ready check is made has let the raid leader know that they are fully buffed, used all required consumables and are ready to, Do not click ready if you are missing buffs or flasks/food. It is your own responsibility to check your own character for buffs, not the person who is buffing. 04. Read tactics on new bosses. We will no longer explain fights. All we will do is positioning. anyone found to have not read tactics and not know the boss abilities/phases will be removed from raid. Questions about the fight may be asked to random raid members. 05. All members are required to use Omen Threat Meter and one of either Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs, and updates for these should be checked for daily. It would also be very helpful if raiders could install Ora2. These addons can be sourced from Curse. 06. As well as the mandatory addons above, All raiding members are expected to have the addons their class and spec needs to raid effectively, and have them loaded prior to the raid start. In addition, please disable any addons unnecessary for raiding before joining the raid. 07. Sitout is a necessary and expected part of raiding. The raid leader and officers will build the group they think will best succeed at killing a boss, so certain classes or specs may need to be switched in or out. In addition we also attempt to be fair with people who are already on sitout making sure they experience some bosses that night - no-one is above being put out for parts of the evening. We expect you to handle these decisions maturely and when on sitout please do stay on vent as failure to respond when called upon will result in you forfeiting your raid spot for that evening unless very good reason can be given. 08. Raid times are as stated above, these times are the same every raid so there is no excuse for people to go AFK to eat, shower, go to shops etc. Please do all of these things before the raid and not during the raid. We will no longer tolerate random AFK’s without letting an officer or raid leader know. 09. A ten minute break will be given approximately halfway through the raid. Please use this time effectively so you do not have to be afk for any more time during the raid. Ten minutes means exactly ten minutes, and if people are not back promptly then they will be replaced. 10. Loot is distributed via a loot council comprised of the officer team. Headcount is used to log raid attendance and this, as well as upgrade, effort and whether loot has been received that week by an individual are all factors that affect who receives the item. Officer decision is final. Due to the nature of this system, we expect the raid to be patient whilst loot decisions are made. 11. Please do not come to raids if your connection is unstable. Too many problems are caused by people attending raids with unstable connections. Get your connection fixed first, then attend raids. Please be honest about this. In the majority of the cases, there is nothing you can do about it. 12. Learn to be quiet on vent. Too many people are chatting away while raiding. There is plenty of time outside of raids to chat about whatever you like, but while raiding you stay quiet. During a raid only the raid leader should be speaking: the only other people who open their mouths are those that have been assigned to do so. Please keep this in mind. 13. Everyone can make mistakes; we are only human after all. All we ask of you, is that when you mess up you try to learn from it and don not continue to make the same mistake. Players who repeatedly make the same mistakes will be replaced. 14. People raid for fun and expect raids to move smoothly. Any kinds of behaviour that disrupt the raid or shows of immaturity will result in removal from the raid and potentially more serious action such as a temporary raiding ban. Failure to meet the above raid rules will result in you being removed from the raid, and repeated failure by the same individual may lead to more serious action. If we do not have a replacement we will go with 24 people. If more than 3 people in the same raid fail to meet the above rules, the current raid will be cancelled. Should you have any questions, feel free to ask one of our officers ingame, or take a peek at our forums. |
